Following on the success of our sell out classes our brand is expanding and we are currently looking for someone to join our growing team of wonderful female jewellers who teach the workshop experiences.
About the Job
At The Ringsmiths we run a variety of jewellery making workshops as well as selling our At Home Kits and Ready to Wear collections. Due to the phenomenal popularity of our classes, our teaching team are in need of a skilled and experienced jeweller who will assist in classes, with the possibility of progressing to being a fully trained Ringsmiths teacher and host. Full training will be provided.
The role is varied and hands on. It will involve helping with all aspects of teaching jewellery, production and sales. Our ideal candidate is someone who is dynamic, has a passion for jewellery, is confident and wants to further their career alongside our fast growing company. The right candidate will have attention to detail and show initiative in all tasks, whilst being able to prioritise and complete jobs in a reasonable timeframe. Someone who can deliver excellent customer service, work closely with others in a small team, is energetic, flexible, and has a can-do attitude.
In particular the skills we require include:
Ability and confidence to present different jewellery making techniques in metal
Cleaning up castings
Soldering
Ability to polish to a very high standard
Different wax carving techniques
Sizing and resizing rings
Knowledge of gemstones and setting styles
The day to day running of the space will include:
Setting up the class space in preparation for workshops
Taking responsibility for visual presentation and cleanliness of the class and store space
Assisting teachers and demonstrating in workshops
Being the first point of contact with customers attending workshops
Managing, packing and despatching kit orders
Communicating regularly with relevant team members and updating customers
Building excellent working relations with the team, and with relevant external suppliers
Visiting external suppliers
Skills and Experience:
Jewellery qualification essential
Minimum 3 years industry experience at the bench
Confident in speaking to a small group or giving 1:1 guidance
Attention to detail and common sense
Ability to follow instructions and finish work to a high standard
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and be adaptable
Be self-motivated and able to work well within a team
Must be organised, efficient and able to work to deadlines
Enthusiastic and friendly personality, confident in liaising with customers attending workshops and suppliers

HOURS
This is a full time role including weekends. The position is available immediately, any successful applicant will be required to work a paid trial period.
